I can agree to that. By chance though, are you a visual learner? that would have a lot of weight in this discussion, because people like me need to see something in order to start using it. It can be a pain on games like this.

yeah I like looking at stuff, but I also like the aspect of having to know how everything is laid out in my head too (weird, I know, but I'm also playing a space spreadsheet game, go figure). So I don't really want to get rid of all the mental figure-it-out work. Though if anything like this ever comes out, it would be really nice if we could attatch notes to the bookmarks that would come up as we click on or scroll over the dot on the map (just like the fleet dots in system map).

Now we got something goin! That would be perfect. There is a lot that I would want from a system like this, and Footnotes are one of them. I would also need that multi-map system you were talking about. It would be very nice to have everything laid out in a seperate map, then one map to put it all together. There would still be a lot to plan in your head though. You would need to go through a lot of calculations for time/distance, and everything else too.

True. I suppose that this is getting akin to the 3D ship things tho.

The fact that you did not mention large key fleets shows you need to relearn how wars in AE work. Bases and such are very small compared to the blow caused by derbing a fleet.

I really like this idea, but make sure it would function on the static oldschool map and not just the new UI

This game is boring and needs to evolve.

I like this idea, anyone who currently has beef with this idea should probably say something now. I personally believe that it is perfect as is, with the one exception of the 100 bookmarks addition.

Regardless maps :

So far i sometimes used maps to show what ppl need to do . Example :

I simply cut my own map from AE , edit it in some program , and repost it on board.

Mybe its possible to do similar thing inside AE? Make option like a [Quote] to cut map out of game and then make it possible to repost it on any board as image. I then can use my own bookmarks to highlight important coordinates and will just put it on announcement. If it could be possible to make such map interactive (so that ppl can click on it and go to bookmarked coordinates , VOILA! simple and effective way of showing situation in any galaxy , inside the guild or to other players via PM.

I very much like this idea, It would really help. I think we're all liking it here, haven't seen any negative feedback, This should defiantly be put into the game.

I read this and only thought of one problem.

It would greatly increase the chances of spying and betraying.

However, I do not know if this is a major issue that should be fixed.
