Quantum, with only 3 clusters, is the nadir of Astroempires.
Personally, I think this is feckin *beep*. We've built communities and made friends in this game and now it's dying.
Should we let it die, or could we, as the surviving community, roll up a marketing plan, and give this game the member boost it needs. I believe, that if we all work together, we can get the next server to open all the way to the 90s. Feck, I want the next server to be dominated by the 80s,90s alliance.
So, post what you think, post all your suggestions, share your knowledge and your commitment to opening the 90s next server.
Once enough people are interested we can start coordinating our efforts together.
For those interested, it would also be a good way to get some experience with marketing e.t.c.
cheers

Re: It's time to band together
I don't disagree with the OP post but the idea of a new E80s/Q80s, some of us did have the hope that Q would be that kind of a server. The # of players who wanted to play Q ended up filling Q00-Q29. That's it. That's the population of peak AE now.
Yea we know AE is dying but part of my job as a GM is to help people get over the fact that AE is doomed. They should be more invested in friends and Skype networking than in e-materialism. Spreadsheet-based empires are e-materialism if thats the only reason why you play ( "I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED to be top 1" . lol remember when I used to take ae way too super srsly).
The 2nd guy is right, this isn't a full-time unpaid job where we slavishly sacrifice our lives and time to glorify AE. "Let's make a United Nations! How about we bring socialism to astro, like the v2-lovers wanted to do." No, don't do that. Get a real second job. Start a business.
lol we've already upgraded and contributed so much in player-based viability, funds, and warm bodies to be the community. There have been countless dozens of good ideas proposed over the years, and they always get rebuked. why overturn v2 and restore v1 unless they were getting hammered on revenues. If Q wasn't the revival server (see my top line) then I don't see how R could possibly be any bigger. ae would need to throw a legitimate hail Mary at this point, since so many players perceive ae has having ruined the integrity of the game.
A hail Mary is often confused with a fail Mary. v2 and rapid-fire-release of new servers would have to be considered a fail Mary. Same as with the Andromeda crash 7 days upgrade.

I googled Astroempires just to see what kind of webpages I would get and I found this:Balor wrote:

If you take your time to read it, you will realise that the same exact crash 7 days upgrade happened 8-9 years ago, the AE team handled it the same exact way, and we are still here.

Nadir would imply this game could fall no lower - I think it has a bit more to fall before it dies.
We can't really bail water out of the boat faster than it is flooding in. The hole is completely caused by the people in charge of the game.
There is no saving this game as long as the administration continues to screw over its customers.

Re: It's time to band together
Nothing the remaining player base can really do.
People aren't gonna stop using multis and their not gonna stop zerging, which makes playing pretty much pointless for everyone else
Not to mention the absolute fail that 2.0 was. Well I suppose it was a success if they were trying to drive people away

Re: It's time to band together
I gave up on it myself after a friend told me what the devs think about their own game.

Re: It's time to band together
The player base is only a slight problem compared to what i just underlined. Mr Wizard sees this as easy cash with little to no maintenance required.Dr. Fappo wrote:I gave up on it myself after a friend told me what the devs think about their own game.

Re: It's time to band together
As already mentioned, I don't get paid to market this game and not even the devs seem to care about it.
Also, the friends I made I have on Skype and we play other games together so no biggie.
