Greetings, various spacefaring peoples,
As my third full year of playing AE is right around the corner (and I was bored) I decided to redo my old graphic pack, which is getting a bit dusty. When I made the original, I was still new to Photoshop (and AE). Using tricks I've learned since then, I managed to create something that I believe is a bit nicer, and more interesting to look at.

Please leave any feedback, my old pack has been downloaded hundreds of times, but I don't even know if anyone actually uses it or not.
My old pack is still available here: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=1741
Just unzip the contents into your 'stars' folder, and you've got some nice new stars!
To do this, you must first download the astroempires graphic pack, and make sure it works; only after you do that should you attempt to install this, otherwise it just won't work. I hope you all enjoy these.

It would be easier in a .zip file. Most people don't and I should have one but you need a program to open .rar. I'll have to download one later when I don't have so much of a bandwidth limitation.

Sorry about that, didn't even realize I had RARed it. I added a ZIP link.

OK I got it but I think your first pack looks brighter and clearer. Additionally in the new package all the circles around all the stars with squares around those does not flow well IMO.
Re: Star Pack 2 : three year anniversary addition
The beauty of it all is that you can mix and match elements that you do like with those of my, or others', packs. So if you like the grid background, but want to keep the old stars without the boxes, you can do so. Unfortunately, it'll look odd if you do that, as the old stars don't have transparent backgrounds, so it'd conflict with the grid. I plan on remaking the stars from scratch later, when I have the time, so keep an eye out for that. I'll make a couple versions, with and without the boxes.Ski wrote:OK I got it but I think your first pack looks brighter and clearer. Artwork forum mod for some reason never moved this to the graphic pack section although I had asked, so I'm bumping this.

This is probably a stupid question but since I don't have a stars folder I assume I just make one inside the the folder of the GP I am using and place all your images in there?
Thanks for any help

that'd be the thing to do, yes.FasterThanLight wrote:This is probably a stupid question but since I don't have a stars folder I assume I just make one inside the the folder of the GP I am using and place all your images in there?

although not much point in doing so, they're discontinuing the graphic packs, so it'll all be obsolete w/o the choice of using it.
instead of writing an extra couple lines of code, they decide to remove the whole thing. isn't that just peachy?

Yeah I noticed it's a shame really there are a lot of talented people out there and the standard GUI is... well... extremely boring!
