wow, thats nice. You guys all really put some time into it. However, I think you guys made them way too thick. If you look at it from a planetary scale, It would take the resources of like 5 planets to get that much metal. It should be thin, with lots of solar panels.

Ill post a model later on.

Despite my criticism, Excellent work. 8-)

Too far out. Still too thick.

Though, this is speaking from both physics, and logic. A better representation of Prings is just a "ring" of orbital weapons platforms. I'm fairly sure it might have been brought up in this thread, but I'm not sure.

Anyways, even though the ring is slightly thinner, the sheer circumference makes it a still insane amount of materials. If you took all the weapons you had on that ring, and divided it between a couple dozen (Or five, if you refer to the actual game) OWPs, then not only do you use in incredibly lower amount of materials, but you also don't lose your entire ring if one or two get destroyed. Granted, there could be massive shield generators that could possibly make the one ring last longer in combat than that which I express, the cost effectiveness of the individualized OWPs makes them the better choice, hands down.

Personally, I prefer the insane bludgeoning rings I may have mentioned earlier in this thread. Basically, the ring(s) revolve(s) at a fraction of SoL (Powered by massive engines) and impacts any ships eager and foolish enough to get close. Yep. Insane.

that actually makes sense. Ill make the ring smaller and closer to the planet.

Detail!

Missile launchers, over-sized guns, giant swinging axes, the works!

Though, missiles, rail guns, and la/ma/gra/etc.-sers would be the most practical. If you can, make sure that the laser cannons and rail guns are housed in protective domes. Trust me, when it comes down to it, they're better.

Or, you can do something successful, and use photobucket or something of the like to post the image, or possibly it's URL if it's big enough to break the page (You won't do it to my 27" screen, but you'll do it to everyone else's).
