Re: Alien Races
fixed that for you.Zerg: (Tyranid inspiration)
although the image has nothing to do with the zerg, you can learn the origins. 40k is far older than starcraft <.<
Re: Alien Races
Which mean the original was correct. "Tyranids are the inspiration for the zerg" or "The zerg are inspired by Tyranids".Ory'Hara wrote:fixed that for you.Zerg: (Tyranid inspiration)

I have no clue as to the actual origins of whichever, just fixing Ory's English. =PCallum wrote:Cowbacca wrote:Which mean the original was correct. "Tyranids are the inspiration for the zerg" or "The zerg are inspired by Tyranids".Ory'Hara wrote:

Re: Alien Races
alien was just an alien, not a horde of them
no, the original was the other way around, it says the zerg were the inspiration for the tyranids. taking into consideration that starcraft came out long after 40k.. i highly doubt a time machine actually exists, but that could be me...Cowbacca wrote:Which mean the original was correct. Re: Alien Races
No it doesn't say that. You're not English right? I think that's where the confusion is.
It said "Tyranid (Zerg inspiration)". If something is the Zerg inspiration, that means it inspired the Zerg, not was inspired by the Zerg.

Re: Alien Races
The Starship Troopers movie is probably more accurate comparison to the Tyranids than the book. But the Tyranids Codex beat the movie by a few years. Later versions of the models may have been influenced by the movie, but never the Zerg. Many years ago, I used to hear that Starcraft was supposed to have been a Warhammer 40k game, but due to legal stuff, it didn't follow through.Gareth117 wrote:i thought that Tyranid where inspired by Starship trooper books :/
The origins of the Tyranids is from Space Hulk, which is more accurate to compare with Alien, since genestealers behaved as the Aliens do minus the acid blood.

Which is blatantly false. That never happened.Fluttershy wrote:Many years ago, I used to hear that Starcraft was supposed to have been a Warhammer 40k game, but due to legal stuff, it didn't follow through.

Re: Alien Races
Whether or not it was true, I cannot be curtain. I just used to hear that occasionally on my visits to Games Workshop from the staff many years ago. Their conversations do have some merit behind it when comparing their models with the units in starcraft. But this was years ago, long before SC2 was released.DarkMirror wrote:Which is blatantly false.
