Massive GTK Base Deletion

In an effort to run under level protection, the leadership at GTK has advised all players to delete their bases.

This new strategic form of AE play has baffled scientists around the world.

Former [GTK] HAVOK takes it really hard without any request for a dinner date first.

Our top 2 accounts decided to delete their accounts this morning in conjunction with [chaos] sending a wave of ninja fleets into M27. While they made polite noises about stress and anxiety, they also left this gem about an hour before the deletion:

Lol. So they planned to delete their Mystic accounts three weeks before the server even started? Mkay.

GTK isn't in a "bad position". They're done. Players are deleting bases, entire accounts, and the leftovers are attempting to defect.

Strangely, despite losing our top 2 accounts, having several bases hit, and half our guild having 3-day-old accounts, it's still fairly close. You don't have enough fleet to do more than snipe some bases and run back home.

You would get destroyed, every ASAE that has been hit or about to get hit deletes their bases so how would you do any different.

Deleting your account because you're about to actually experience the core mechanic of the game, war, should be considered disgusting: believe me, I've done it numerous times. It's cheap. If they can't handle what the game was intended for, maybe they're better off playing something else instead of wasting 20 dollars for a year and quitting before month 1 was even 2/3s done.

Yeah, it's pretty sad. Our guild was founded to help teach newbies how to play. You trick them into joining to save a base hit, but we all know they'll be permanent farms as soon as you don't need the vision from their bases any longer. But hey, this will be a lesson to them as well.
