I'm using firefox 2.0.x not 1.5.x. Is that a bad thing?

Well I've checked my work multiple times. The link to my files is correct and I'm under graphics pack, but still no dice. I don't get a white screen, just plain black with no spinning planets, etc. If it isn't my version of firefox what could it be?

make sure the path is correct and use "/" and not "\"

Well, it HAS to do with the version of Firefox. And more specific with the exception file with the inserted code.

I 've done all the necessary actions and I end up to the same results. Black screens if no css is checked and white if checked. Checked, doublechecked, triplechecked.

And then I decided to try on IE7. Everything works fine, except of the fact that it does not support animated images and that is the limitation of the browser. The difference there is that you put the exception urls under the menu of IE7, tools->internet options->security->sites etc and everything works. That is why I am saying that the procedures have been according to the instructions. I believe the problem is with the file created for the firefox.

I am using firefox 3.01 and Windows Vista Ultimate 64

FOUND IT

I believe everyone, as I did, copy-pasted the code from the first page of this topic into the text document. There is a (;) missing from the end of the second line!!! That is why it is not working.

I copy-pasted from here and everything works JUST FINE!!!
http://forum.astroempires.com/viewtopic.php?t=6931

I think the author should change it from the first page

This step is what's confusing me:
#7- Take the unzipped folder you downloaded (Robby Mac Animated Astros) and open it. Copy the content to
C:\Games\Astro Empires Alpha\images\astros

I just don't get it...and I had already installed a different pack before reading this post. I get a white screen with the CSS box checkmarked. Would someone please please please make the installation process much less confusing by explaining in an easier way for those of us who find this one too frustrating and complicated?

Normally I'm a quick learner, but it seems all of these posts are just not detailed enough at some intervals and it leaves many of us :wall: :x

Or would someone be so kind as to just write a refreshing post on this subject?

If you follow every step in order, there is nothing complicated about this entire process. I did it and many others did as well, with minor or no problems.

after much frustration, i found this link and did it all. Ran into the ; omission problem in the js code and solved it myself. Everything then worked except the map aspect. Went to the image galaxy section and found that it was still empty; copied a new folder of galexy to images and voila, everything works. Thanks Dark Knight

I just tested it on IE6 and it worked. However, I have modded Firefox so it works. Dunno if that affected IE6's functionality on local files.

It's worth a shot.

I am trying to do this on Firefox 3 in windows Vista 64 and I am having a problem with this step;

Go to Tools > Folder Options > View and uncheck the box to Hide extensions for known file types. Click OK to apply the changes.
Create a text file via File > New > Text Document
Open the new file, New Text Document.txt, and insert the following text code:

There is no "Folder options" under tools. Now what?

Just keep laughing. I have a 20 mil HC stack that will be up your arse like a Borg nanoprobe. Just as soon as I can find a Wormhole to get it back from the Delta quadrant........

With the unzipped folder, copy every sub-folders, located in images, except Astros, Galaxies and Stars to
C:\Games\Astro Empires Alpha\images

lost me there... Do you copy the images as well so everything but the Astros, Galaxies and Stars. From the first download or from the Skin? lol confused...

Edit: Nvm got it to work... does not work with Firefox 3.0.x it looks like or Google chrome.
