TUM's Pie Calculator!

Postby The United Mankind » Mon 19 Jan, 2009 22:25

Hi guys, I was in a battle a few days ago and had to calculate out everyone's profits etc. I put together a wee spreadsheet to do the calculations and thought, wouldn't it be nice to have a calculator like this on offer on the forums? So I spent the past 4 days making it pretty (Well maybe ^^), hiding the background calculations and testing it.

Well here is the finished product, TUM's Pie Calculator 1.0.

Image
[Designed to be used with MS Excel 97 and higher. Open Office can be used but it looks awful in Open Office]

=Using it=
Simple to use, all you need to do is enter the players name, their fleet lost and the total debris generated. You can add pillage and trade route pillage if they are applicable. The spreadsheet then calculates the amount of debris each member should get and allows you to copy and paste it out easily. It calculates how much each member gets in two ways so you can choose which your team would prefer,

Equal Profit - Each member gets their fleet loses back then an equal share of whats left regardless of how much fleet they used.
By fleet - Each member gets their fleet loses back and the % of the profit to the value of how much fleet they lost.

=Updates=
Pass any errors or problems you find here and I'll try to get them fixed. I've tested it as best I can but you know some things always slip through. Also I am open to feature requests for later versions :)

Thanks, and hope you find it useful. :D

The only flaw I notice is that it will only accept that one player pillaged the base and plundered trades. It's possible that different players would plunder trades, possibly several players, maybe make a trade plunder column?

maybe add a row with debri/ trades already taken to make it easy to calculate what share people are allowed to collect.

Never agrue with an idiot, they'll pull you down to their level and beat you on experience.

awesome!

Can you also make it automatically boot your jerk guildmate who takes too much derb, then attack his recyclers?

i disagree aSpy

trades are easy enough just to deduct from someone's share as they're usually nice round numbers ;)

as far as the calculator goes, mad props   :D

Next to "by fleet looses" you add two more. I called collected debri and one Debri left to collect. That way you can see in one look how much debri every one has left to collect.

It's not as simple as deducting the value of the trade from that player, the additional amount of debris has to be assigned over all the players :)

If you download Open Office you can use it. It looks ugly as all hell but it works.
