I am also very disappoint. Aedmin always does what they like and what they think would be a great idea (first give them $20,000 bucks, then they'll make a game) which flips the script completely from how its usually done. They seem to get mad at their players (people who are the life blood and cash flow of their business in the first place) for not liking arbitrary decisions that spit in the eye of what people actually want.
I believe that if AEdmin re-invested in old servers with something like a simple 3rd NPC then players would also re-invest, the upgrades from 27 servers could easily eclipse the euros I see so far on the indiegogo.
There is a game out there that got stuck in development hell. It's been in development for over 4 *beep* years!! and they've crowdfunded over $250,000! So that crowdfunding model pays for jobs for a few developers, for work that may never be completed.
So at 3% of their fundraising goal all I can say is good luck, they gonna need it. Lots of in-game boards and Skype channels are roasting the business plan because they think it sucks. The business plan sucks, they sent the press release to over 10,000 accounts and they got so far only 14 backers!
I have my stories, other guys have other stories, overall people just do not trust AE the corporation enough to invest more and more of their time, labor, and money into something that at the end of the day you ultimately don't even own.
So there's no time frame, they haven't even determined the system requirements yet. Why should there be any expectation that a game will ever be made?
