Defenses should act like independent units
It is crazy that after you are attacked, and you build another defense unit, that it is immediately destroyed (treated as if it were destroyed) without being attacked. Each defense unit should act as a unit just as if it were a ship with the same parameters. Obviously this code is already there, since it is being used for the ships. All that needs to be done is to use that same code for the defenses to determine how much each defense unit is damaged, and then those units repair at the current rate. Any newly built units always start out at 100% when they are built, regardless of the state of any other defenses (just like the ships do). The number displayed on the overview screen can then either be an aggregate of all of the numbers, or there can be a separate number for each type of defense unit.

What. Defenses and ships do not behave in the same way at all. Defenses auto-repair (when not occupied), ships don't. Defenses auto-equalise, ships don't. Defenses only fire when attacked, ships can attack back. Ships can break occupations, defenses can't. Ships can be split up in to separate fleets, defenses can't. Ships require credits to repair, defenses don't. etc.BBL wrote:Obviously this code is already there, since it is being used for the ships. The feature you're asking to be fixed is the auto-equalisation step, for which there is clearly no code for ships.BBL wrote:Any newly built units always start out at 100% when they are built, regardless of the state of any other defenses (just like the ships do). However, remove the "just like ships do" (because it's not), newly built defenses on a freed base should be built at their full strength, and then be subject to equalisation. That calculation shouldn't be hard, the game does it after every battle.
Occupied bases should stay at 0% regardless.

I follow the rules, if we rule. sorry been busy compiling data, for a popular game clone, like 2006 to 2008 AE style patches and bug fixes, but not the AE clone. 2002
