I should've added "But not the level requirement"
I propose that peoples of level 60+ be randomly sent invitations to this server thing. Level 60+ is a level that both servers have ample numbers of. (I really hope that the level requirement has a middle ground).

I still like my suggestion of opening it to anyone with a purchased Upgrade. That avoids elitism and by encouraging pelple to buy upgrades it gives the devs an incentive to implement it.

How is it elitest to require a specific level? Its not difficult to reach level 30,40 and only a moderate amount of effort is needed for 60.

Maybe elitist is the wrong word. Less inclusive. Anyway, my point about giving an incentive to buy upgrades still stands - if the devs go to all the effort of implementing an idea like this, wouldn't they like to make some money off it?

Your suggestion is exclusive, the level restriction isn't. Anyone can reach a level over time and with enough effort. Not everyone can pay for an upgrade.

Idea, top 500 get invite, it costs 5$ to buy in, you get 3 months in speed server 2-3x, you will get 1month upgrade and the rest you must upgrade on your self. This would be nice for people who are in guilds that don't do much for months and max cap would be around 3k, could be looking at 1k-2k players joining, all of them active.

If only top players are invited, where would I find noobs to farm?  A server requires a certain population size to be viable.

Its only around for a set period of time before it gets wiped and reset, atleast that's my understanding. If there is a buy in, there had better be cash prizes for the top 5 players.

The buy in would be to avoid no good inactive farms (why would people play a server that costs to play and quit within a month?). Secondly I agree, there should be prizes for top 10 or something of fleet/exp/tech/econ. And the other purpose of the buy in is for the server so that they don't have financial reasons not to.

how about upgraded player or top 200ish
( I just know a couple of people that had higher level accounts that left
the game for varius resons and may like to be in a compotition server )

oh and before I forget
I like the idea of an upfront fee
also having the server that the invite was excepted from
displayed on the players profile in the new server
would be a nice touch

I like the idea of buy in sever for a prize...but I would probably only play it if they removed guilds from it so that it is truly a pvp sever not a gvg sever.
