The level protection system is defunct and no longer fit for purpose

Postby The Monarch » Fri 28 Sep, 2018 22:42

I like the last few updates, and I think they could benefit the new 2.0 server, Mystic.

Not many people - Including this evil monarch butterfly here - are happy with the current player level protection and you need to listen to your community Wiz and change how it works.

Here's two examples I've seen today on different ends of the AEverse, where people voice their displeasement..
I think the level protection system is broken as is, you can stay at level 29.99 and remain untouchable. My personal opinion is that level protection needs to be based on a percentage of your current level. Something like you can only attack people half your level and higher and up to twice your level.
IE: you’re level 100, you can attack and be attacked by level 50.01 to 199.99(sic)
fixing level protection and giving it a time limit until it expires should be the biggest and most needed change.

after that... hmm, maybe fix up fleet tax system for 2.0?
thirdly refund for when commanders die/dismissed? (a simple 50% XP rebate would be fine)

but yea, bases being destroyed is a huge no.
and sorry to say but I think you're in the minority for guild size nerfing. (though I'm inclined to agree with it I'm 99% sure it'll never happen.(sic)

.. If you changed how the level protection works, maybe your new server Mystic, might be a little more mystical than you think.

What can I do to you that life hasn't already?

I agree with level protection reworks.
With the option to score a beautiful pillage and not be perma occed for years to come is a sweet melody to old server's ears.

@ Monarch, stop acting like you are speaking for the community. I don't recall electing your dumb *beep* to be my voice.

keep players BASE protection as it is for Lv's stated in AE game play...BUT... scrap the OFF BASE protection for all off base attacks on fleet.. this gives the opportunity for low Lv's to hit high level players fleet... balances out the one lopsidedness in the game...

It's when a lv 45+ hits a lv 20 off base..... that's where i see most of the deletes in AE .....

no Darwinian jokes ... please .. :whisle: ..... salut

..or you all can stop crying and adapt and overcome... like the rest of us.

....or go make your own game and call it "nutt cupping"

the system in act already protects your base, its simply non publicized (seen many quit before reaching 100% unrest on base) as many features in the game since the tutorial is from 1910. The level protection rule should simply be fixed that if you hit the base of someone higher than your level he can pay back even if you do the lvl 29.99 - lvl 30 trick. If you want to do hits without being harassed by other guilds simply join them btw, after hitting all their naked recs

I have to wonder whether any of the ignoramuses suggesting this have actually thought through the consequences. At most there should be a warning before you break protection, actually attacking without breaking protection should never ever be allowed unless it's to free your own bases. Unbelievably abusable.

I think the level protection system could use a rework. Ideally if you have been playing this game for over 1 year you should need to be upgraded in order to keep your level protection if you under level 30. Otherwise any account over 1 year in age should be hittable by all if they are over 1 year old.

As for other protection, every difference of 10 levels should result in a 5% reduction in fleet power for the higher level player. So a level 150 player who attacks a level 30 player would have a 60% reduction in their fleet power.
