I must say that the latest change to the in game scouting tools is a step in the right direction. Keep up the good work.

i have to agree. it is nice to see the game moving forwards with improvements that actually improve the game.

but to be honestly, this feature is late to the game.

most guilds have had 3rd party fleet databases for years. just imagine how much money those 3rd party datebases have made from a feature you have refused to provide. all that money could have been yours, if only you would listen to what your customers wanted.

in fact, if anyone looks at the history of the features AE has implamented, they are just imitations of features that have been available for years via scripts.

anyway, yes this feature is good. now, pick another popular script and add its features to the game. thanks. 8-)

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Last year we got a Destroyer speed increase.
This year we get some added scouting functionality.

Just imagine what next year will bring. I'm all giddy in anticipation.

next year we will be able to do loop the loops with our scout ships :)

could you explain why the need for the gross rounding of fleets?

lol, yeah it's rounding 'recorded' fleets to nearest
2k, 5k, 10k, 20k, 50k, 100k, 500k, 1m, 2m, 5m, 10m, 20m, 50m, 100m, 200m, 500m, 1b

so, a fleet that's 349m will be recorded and show as 200m, a fleet that's 751m shows as 1b, etc

I'd guess it was to add a bit of stealth to the game.

Well at least this game is getting some much needed attention. AutoScouting will definitely be a good feature, might even get a few players to upgrade so that they can use it. I am starting to get excited about this game again. Things are looking on the up and up.

A lobotomized auto-scout.. seems a waste of dev time. There's many other simple, useful features they could add instead like..
In region view, if you have a fleet in region, then put indicators on systems' pics or beside co-ords to show if bases or fleet present in systems.

Think of the changes as steps. Each one get's you to your destination.

What is Wizards destination?

IMO, he is 2ish steps away from implementing the current "program which shall not be named" in-game.

A trade matching feature and guild sharing of information and viola!

Just a guess on my part.

And the program which shall not be named doesn't work on mobile devices, so I've been told. Now imagine those features in our cellphones, one would even consider playing a new server again.

What i would like to see put into the game
exp needs to be changed.

Dont think player thats defending should get more exp then the attacker

Exp also needs to be broken down so we can see the difference from attacks and defends

So I'll just be that one guy that doesn't like the upcoming auto scouting option in it's current form then. I just posted a FR for a more potent (way faster) way to auto scout. My final idea (auto scouting galaxies with 8 scout ships at the same time who take intelligent routes) may be a little overpowered, as it would make it quite hard to hide large fleets anywhere for longer than a couple of hours ... But anyway: No sir, no slow arse auto scouting for me, tyvm.
