Heavy cruiser to right of them,
Dreadnought to left of them,
Leviathan in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with photon and shell,
Boldly they flew and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
flew the last two hundred million.

Flash'd all their photons bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air,
Shooting the cruisers there,
Charging a fleet, while
All the galaxy wonder'd:
Plunged in the ion-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Lovelies and R-dogs
Reel'd from the plasma stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they flew back, but not
Not the last two hundred million.
