He is clearly an uninformed mod who didn't "get" the sarcasm of the thread title as it wasn't a good moring for the S-S alliance. Timing is everything!

The board is nearly dead, locking one of the few active threads will just accelerate the process...
But if you are a robot and solely think about the rules without considering the situation (the forum dying) then it's a logical decision

FYI even judges don't always strictly follow the law. there's room for interpretation.. and regarding the situation on here also ask themselves how expedient it is to give out a certain 'sanction'

With this in mind perhaps a warning would've been enough, not go locking it straight away.

Just my 2 cents and yes i made an account to vent this :)

Wow, someone who understands. It's like these clowns think the exact same laws governing a previously much larger player base should apply to this dwindling tiny base. Moderators should be stewards not blind enforcers. But instead you get complete trash that just accelerates the board's demise.

And you also can't speak sense to them, what tiny amount of authority they have here, they abuse it. Possibly due to lack of control in their own lives.

They're also using the thread lock feature entirely too much. Like it's the only tool they have for moderation. They do such a bad job at their little volunteer post they should be terminated.

a few mods will sometimes post saying we are getting to that grey area per say

oooo a thread about me :)

It's pretty simple guys, follow the rules, and don't get lemonz... really not rocket science.

The Good Morning topic was closed due to the OP's decision to post a smiley face, which is contrary to the forums rules on the subject of spam. I had seen the double posting (Citing BW as she spotted it too) Slippin had done on Black Widow's post (and yes, he should know better with this being attributed to as spam too). These aren't 'one off's'... Also should have gotten a warning for posting coords on the open boards.

I decided to let him off the hook, about issuing warning 3 as this would have meant an instant temporary suspension of his forum account for a period of days.

So thread lock vs poster suspended... i opted for the thread lock...

Oh well, I'll just have to go for player suspension next time, don't want people to think I am over compensating when using the topic lock button :P

Just don't take the proverbial. There is a lot of leeway involved across the board, but when the rules are abused repeatedly, then lemonz will float down..

Also moved the post from Sigma P+W to General, since it's a thread about me and not Sigma.

It's pretty simple guy, enforce the rules blindly and soon you won't have a community to moderate... really not rocket science.

The rules are not enforced blindly - Ikari laid down the rules, and we follow them (and temper judgement).

The community will exist as long as the servers exist (it's naive thinking, otherwise). In reading my post, you took one small section and did a tl;dr because it's not in party with your method of forum participation.

Just follow the rules. Don't take the proverbial. (How is this difficult to understand??)
