"Epsilon Facility" - Google SketchUp

Ongoing model. Keeping it simple. End result is to be a cross between Aperture Laboratories and the Hive from the Resident Evil movie.

Currently working on the long, tedious processing of making the dormitories for the personnel who live on-site. Then will come the cubical farms and a few labs. Then I work on the next floor, which is more labs, a few machine shops and the AI core. After that are the bio-engineering labs on the next floor down, and then the engineering sections. Once I've connected everything, it'll be time to paint the stuff.

Just curious as to what type of program you use for that?

that's Google SketchUp

basically, it's a lot more efficient for civic engineers, nice building-type blueprints can come out of that program. it's mostly just used for that, takes a lot of skill to make something as detailed as, say, the Guggenheim... possible, but very difficult, lol

VERY well done. just wondering, are you a college student O_O?? cause the people who make maya let students have the program for free, they just can't make stuff they profit off of directly or something, it's really all in a contract or whatever, but it's awesome i'm using Autodesk 3D max and it's leaps and bounds over sketchup and rhino(the only previous 3D modeling program I could get ahold of)

Also, why? Why are you making this facility? is there a story behind it? O_o

This was made independently of the old file, which I lost. I may make it fully 3D at a later date. Model is to scale, meaning each hallway is two meters across. "ExTRA" stands for "Experimental Technologies and Research Archive"
