Evening all. Hello Glaurung and Sans Peur! Rangers finally back where they belong! Daemon was a very good leader. Tempremental and infuriating at times, but good. Sans Peur is a great guy too. He and I worked our best to keep DOOM going...sadly it was not to be. Its a pity those two aren't here anymore in Ceti...

Everyone looked at each other as they read the annoucement. It was the end of akatsuki as they knew it, it was over. The room burst into activity as everyone started talking and trying to find friends. They started discussing plans and what opinions they each had on the situation. The time had finally come for them to disband and everyone to go their seperate ways. It took several days to organise everything but finally the day came. Ships and trucks began loading up with equipment and people.
Zout walked around outside, everyone was standing around in front of the guild building talking and making sure they had all their things. Spartan saw Zout and walked over to him.
"You've been a tower of strength to us man," Spartan said to Zout, clapping him on the back. Zout laughed and nodded back as Spartan helped him into the truck, "I'll miss you too." As the truck started up Zout leaned out the window and called out to everyone, "Bye everyone, I'll pray for you!"
As the truck pulled away Face was seen at the truck next to the first saying goodbye to Lucky as that truck pulled away to follow. He turned and saw Mahes loading a suitcase into a shuttle already heavily crammed with luggage.
CT walked over carrying her own bags but when she got the shuttle she realised there was no room to put them.
She sighed and said, "I'll put my stuff in the next one and catch up to it later."
Mahes stopped her and pulled his own bags out saying, "No its ok, if you leave your stuff alone you'll never get ahold of them again, I'm sure young Ned here can find me another mode."
Ned looked at Mahes slightly confused and said, "I'll try, but we ain't got too many modes left." With that he walked off.
"Thank you," CT said to Mahes and hugged him.
"Hold onto that arm Mahes we want to hug it next," Spartan said walking up to the two of them along with Face and Donkey.
"You take the arm, I'll have what's left," Face said.
Spartan came up to CT and hugged her tight, parting slowly before exchanging a goodbye. CT went to Donkey next, giving him a tight hug too before smiling and saying goodbye to him too. She then came to Face and paused awkwardly.
She nodded at him and simply said, "Face."
Face nodded back and said, "CT," before pulling her to him and kissing her. Spartan, Donkey and Mahes stood around waiting somewhat akwardly as the kiss continued for over a minute. Spartan glanced at his watch and they all looked around before Face and CT finally parted, both rather out of it.
"So er see ya," Face said.
"Yeah," CT replied as she stumbled onto the shuttle.
"Goodbye everyone!" she called out as the shuttle door closed and took off. As the shuttle left a truck pulled up, driven by Ned.
"I hope you don't mind riding in a garbage truck," Ned called out, "But it's the last vehicle I've got."
"Not at all, a most fitting way to leave this place," Mahes gave quick, heartfelt goodbyes to the three of them and climbed into the passenger seat beside Ned. The engine grumbled as the truck started and the two of them drove off.
"So how are you leaving Donkey?" Spartan asked.
"Oh I've got my transportation over yonder," Donkey pointed towards the stable, "I'll take one last ride on my *beep*, I've got a shuttle waiting for me at the orphanage. I won't pretend this has always been fun, but you guys made me laugh when I needed it the most."
Both Spartan and Face nodded and said goodbye, watching as Donkey climbed onto his *beep* and trotted away.
In the distance they heard Face's shuttle start up.
"Let me give me you a ride," Spartan said. They got into his frigate and headed for the shuttle pad. They both stood there staring at each other for a moment, each unwilling to begin.
"Look maybe we will see each other again ..." Face said to Spartan, "I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you too," Spartan replied, "A lot. I can't imagine what this place would have been like without you."
They both paused and looked at each other, both knew there was nothing more that needed saying. Face slowly got out of the frigate and headed for his shuttle. They both stood at the door of their ships looking at each other, the din of the engines was the only sound.
"I'll see you some day, I promise!" Spartan yelled.
"What?!" Face called back not hearing.
"But just in case," Spartan continued, "I left you a note!"
With that Spartan started up his frigate and sped off, leaving Face alone. Face walked into the shuttle and told the pilot to go. As the shuttle lifted off Face saw, spelt out in large, white stones, one word.

FLEET


* The two most important units of the game, and should be massed produced as much as possible:
Fighters and Cruisers (or Heavy Cruisers)

* Fighters(FT) -
They should be with every single mobile/offensive fleet you have, as well as make up the bulk of your defensive fleets. They are just that good, and have the best armour/credit ratio of any ship in the game, so they are the cheapest way to soak up enemy damage while protecting your bigger ships. Also, A large enough Fighter drop is your best bet against any ships that don't have shields (i.e. Anything lower than Cruiser).

* Cruisers(CR) -
Anti-HC/BS/DN. Decent all arounds stats, and faster than HC. And the absolute best ratio when going up against Planetary Rings. Roughly 2000 needed to pop level 1 Pshield. Roughly 500 needed to pop level 1 Prings.

* Heavy Cruisers(HC) -
They are sturdy and strong ships, and can get decent ratios against almost anything. They have high enough shielding to eat-up fighters, and have good enough power/credit ratios to get you through most enemy fleets. Extremely weak to Heavy Bombers/Destroyers/Cruisers. Second best ratio when attacking Planetary Rings. Excellent TN/LV killers.

* Try not to combine Cruisers/Heavy Cruisers when attacking a base.
You will get a worse ratio than if you choose one type, with fighters of course.


Other ships and their uses:

* Bombers(BO) - Anti-CR. Excellent secondary meat shield for Cruiser fleets. Do not use defensively ever.

* Heavy Bombers(HB) - Anti-CR/HC. Should only be used against naked CR/HC fleets. With high CC they are excellent for busting DN's occupying your base. Do not use defensively ever.

* Ion Bombers(IB) - Anti-LV/DS. High cost, poor ratio's.

* Corvettes(CV) - Fastest attack ship in the game. Best used for harassing enemy recyclers in quick attacks. Excellent secondary meat shield for Cruiser fleets.

* Destroyers(DE) - Anti-CR/HC. Good secondary meatshield for Crusier fleets. Good recycler escort.

* Frigates(FR) - Considered a worthless ship. decent hangar capacity and quick speed make it semi useful. Good recyclers escort.

* Ion Frigates(IF) - Anti-LV/DS. Good speed for trapping capital ships, other than that: Useless.

* Battleships(BS) - Anti-CV/DE and everything bigger than itself. Vulnerable to CR/HC.

* Dreadnoughts(DN) - To scare noobs. Good to occupy bases, but mainly only useful for holding UC's. A single DN is good for protecting traderoutes because HB cannot kill them.

* Titans(TI) - Using Levi's instead of Titans is recommended. Much more vulnerable to HC/BS.

* Leviathans(LV) - Great for shield raping Cruiser fleets. Will be killed by roughly 750 HC very easily for a 1:4 ratio.

* Death Stars(DS) - Prize Ship. Slow as hell. Few uses, besides fleet bonus and defense.



Defenses: These are all of the defenses and their uses/best way to take them down. Refer to this for all base attacks.

Barracks: Useless, never build them. Ever. If someone does have them, use FTs and call him a noob.

Laser Turrets: Same as above

Missile Turrets: Same as above

Plasma Turrets: Yepp, you guessed it. Same as above.

Ion Turrets: This is the tier that defences become useful, this is a very BAD base defence by itself, but coupled with higher levels (prings) they will absorb fighters. This happens because they are cheap and have a high shield level, giving you the ability to build up to 4 levels of them. Giving a FT drop more targets distributes the damage and absorbs the drops.

Photon Turrets: Fairly useless, shield can absorb FTs. Dont build them. Use cruisers to kill them.

Disruptor Turrets: These defenses are often used to back up Prings for an extra punch, but by themselves they are not acceptable defenses. Use cruisers to take down with positive ratios.

Deflection Sheilds: Useless shields, never build these. Ever.

***Planetary Ring: The only acceptable defense in AE, the most powerful and single most important building on your astro. BUILD ATLEAST 3 TIERS OF THESE. Their stats speak for themselves. Can be killed with Cruisers or the fleet listed lower in this guide.

Planetary Shield: An odd base defense with an important purpose. It not only absorbs drops and damages, but it also makes the attacker have to use more fire power to hit your base. Leaving more units vulnerable to your prings. They should be built 1 level behind your prings, IE: 3 levels of prings, 2 levels of psheilds.

In that, now we must get down to actually building a fleet. Mathamtically, the most effecitve fleet is here:

Fighters: 1400
Corvettes: 400
Destroyers: 250
Cruisers: 250
Heavy Cruisers: 50

That 100k combination gives you 14800 armor and power stats, and no other combination will give you that ratio. While this is the mathmatical fleet, it is not always the best choice, as explained later.

You're fleet should consist of a very simple ratio, as listed below

1 Heavy Cruiser
2 Cruisers
1 Destroyer
2 Corvettes
16 fighters.

This means, in a perfect mobile fleet, you would have:

1,000 Heavy Cruisers
2,000 Cruisers
1,000 Destroyers
2,000 Corvettes
16,000 Fighters

You will also need recyclers ( to collect the derbs) and carriers to transport extra fighters for FT drops, as to not take away from your mobile fleet.

That all purpose fleet can be deployed to any combat scenario, and dismantled as needed ( whether it be a pure cruiser drop, a Heavy cruiser shield rape, as explained in the attack tactics. )

Now that we have a fleet built, lets figure out what to do with it:

When attacking a pure fleet ( over an empty astro, or over another players base) the first thing you want to do is analyze the fleet composition. The first step is always a fighter drop.

Cutting down a fleet of its non-shielded units its KEY. You will always want to use a bit more fighters than your opponent has, or if there are multiple types on non shielded units, you will have to drop FTs at this ratio:

Corvette: 2 fighters
Recycler: 1 fighter
Destroyer: 4 fighters
Carrier: 5 fighters.

The other shielded units will absorb some of your fighter drop, so it may take slightly more. A good rule of thumb is to add 100 fighters per 1k of FTs you are dropping. (( If it is a 10k FT drop, use 11k to insure total drop))

Once the fighters and other non sheilded units are gone, the rest of the fleet determines your next move. These are the possible scenarios ( the most common in AE) :

* Use the common factors. If their are cruisers, destroyer and Heavy bomber drop them. If their are big shielded units, use HCs to drop them ( if you're cruisers cant. ) Refer to the ship guide above to decide the best course of action.

Trade Routes
Yes, we want to trade internally, however, in times of war, it is common that trade routes between guild members are open targets. I am frequently in contact with members of other guilds, so if you wish your trade routes posted offsite, be sure to let me know, or take the initiative and send some off yourself. If you send some off, go ahead and ask on the board if anyone else has any to send off as well.

Policies
There are but a brief and quick glance for guild policy. Once I have the site up and running, it will go more indepth:


We do NOT attack allies. Attacking an ally(NAP/MDP) may result in your removal from the guild. Generally scout taps(attacking undefended bases with ONLY a scout) are permitted. When in doubt...ASK


Do not plunder trade routes!! The only exception to this would be if we are in times of war, then, and only then, is it acceptable. Even then, only plunder ones between two members of the guild we are at war with.


Everything you say and do reflects back upon the guild. Make sure you remember this. I do not wish to hear that you were cursing at someone for attacking you and threatening that if they don't remove the occupation, we are going to war. That is a quick way to get kicked out.

Fleet and Defenses
Once out of protection, your goal will be to have a minimum of 10 x's your econ on EACH base. You will need to have two of your top two levels of turrets on each base:


Econ= 500 / Fleet=5000


Plasma Turrets 10/10
Ion Turrets 10/10

I inherited a lot of information from Sentarian too. I decided that it was high time for a clearout, so going to get them all uploaded then once everything worthwhile is uploaded; I'm deleting them from my drives. Return it back to the community as it were. We might complain nowadays it's a dead server, but at one point, we had memories there; arguments and the like. So going to try and see what else is worthwhile in uploading. But I can't keep hold of this information forever, and it doesn't seem right as to just erasing it. Some of the players are no longer with us, so...

Commanders

Sparkie : Guildmaster

Regulations

Guildmaster has a overruling and final say in all matters because he can build a railgun.

All Members are required to report their base locations to squallfw, to complete the database.

All members below (decoy?) will be required to choose a mentor to assist in heir development.



Combat Regulations - Rules Of Engagement - ROE

Always be polite. Never insult or swear in your communications outside the guild.

No attacking anyone we have an alliance/treaty with.

No attacking a top 40 guild (by fleet ranking), Unless the defenses do not suit the economy.

If you attack, you may ask for--but not demand or expect--help from the guild.

If you have any questions about whether your attack is allowed, contact a member of the leadership.

There will be no plundering of trade routes outside of wartime.

Do not attack anyones scouts, unless we have declared a war on that person or guild.

Occupation stealing (sniping) is not permitted, except when we have declared a war

At least one Battle report from every attack must be posted on the combat board. UC's exempt.

Those breaking these rules will be placed on Probation, continued violation will result in expulsion from the guild.




Defense Requirements

Prings will be you're final goal for defense, so keep it in mind at lower levels.

For players above level 15 only Ion turrets and above are acceptable.

You require two levels of your top turret/pring (10/10) on each base.

You also require two levels (10/10) of your second best turret on each base.

All weaker defenses are to be disbanded promptly after the completion of the larger ones.

Command centers level 5 (free) / level 10 (upgraded).

1000 fighters on every base

Deflection shields and PShields are a great addition, but do not count as a turret.

100+ Economy astros require shields.

An example

Anyone between lvl 30-35 is required to be researching/building prings.



Activity

Maximum access time is set at 7 days (one week).

Any member with ++ after their name is on vacation and has no worry about being kicked from the guild for exceeding maximum access time.

Contact Ramious and Ashimpto immediately following foreknowledge of your extended inactivity period.

The Galactic Crusader's Code of Conduct
(a work in progress)
A Galactic Crusader must never commit any dishonorable acts that will bring shame to the guild, lest the offender face disciplinary actions (in extreme cases, expulsion from the guild).

In times of war, Galactic Crusaders may only pillage trade routes between two players of enemy guilds, they cannot pillage trade routes that go to a neutral third-party. The only exception to this rule is if the enemy guild as a whole has pillaged our trade routes that lead to a third-parties already.

In normal times, Galactic Crusaders should only occupy bases that belong to inactive players, poorly defended bases, or bases that belong to a player that has already occupied one of your bases...this isn't just honorable, it's the smart thing to do (because if you attack a well defended base, you will most likely lose more credits from destroyed ships than any credits you make from pillaging the base)

Higher then level 35- 5/5 prings, 5/5 pshields,(needed) 15k fighters
10/10 disruptor's(not necessary needed)


After that make more fighters and prings and pshields

This isn't exactly what you have to have but try to have this, i understand when you get carriers having 15k fighters on your base is hard, so try to have this and fighters are always needed so never stop making them.

I don't ever put numbers on bombers, but if you do have some, make sure you have at least a couple thousand, 5k bombers does the same damage as 10k fighters, and they cost the same, remember that. Having heavy bombers is a great thing, but when people attack you they will use fighters to kill your heavy bombers before they use cruisers. And when people do try to take your base, it most likely will be cruisers and fighters attacking you if the person is trained to get the best ratio possible. Be ready for cruisers and fighters always!!!

Command centers are a tough choice, always have 5 command centers, just most experienced pros will tell you to get 20 command centers, if you don't upgrade a lot like they do its impossible, so go for 5 and 10 command centers.

Queue 2 shipyards and as many metal refineries as you can before you go to sleep. I'd say 12 metal refineries on the planet is good.

Get another base and build:
For production base;

8 Shipyards
10 Spaceports

As for research, aim for this and this only:

Fourth Day:

Get 2 more planets and build 2 more outpost ships. What to build on new planets look at day three. Also improve your 2 first bases every way you can.

Fifth Day:

Build up to your 7th base by nightfall. And build 3 more out post ships.

Six day:
build 2 more bases save up for base 10

Seventh day build 10th base, improve all bases.
